AI Explain & Summary
AI Explain and AI Summary translate CloudQuell’s numbers into clear, plain-language narratives. Instead of reading a table of movements, you get a sentence or two on what changed, where, and why it matters — grounded in your own cost data.
Where they help
Section titled “Where they help”These explanations span the FinOps surfaces you already use:
- Cost — a summary of what’s driving your month-to-date spend and the biggest movers versus last month.
- Anomalies — a plain-language read on why a service’s spend looks unusual, so you can decide whether it needs action. See Investigating anomalies.
- Savings — context on a recommendation: what it does, the estimated impact, and the trade-offs. See AI Advisor.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”- AI Explain focuses a single item — one anomaly, one recommendation, one cost movement — and explains it in context.
- AI Summary rolls up a view into a short narrative, so you can scan the headline story before diving into the detail.
Because the output is generated from your live data, it reflects your actual accounts, services, and spend rather than generic advice.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Explanations are a starting point for judgment, not a decision. Always confirm against the underlying numbers before acting.
- These explanations are best-effort: they run on an external language-model provider, so an explanation may occasionally be unavailable or delayed. The underlying cost, anomaly, and savings data is always available regardless.
- AI Explain and AI Summary run inside the CloudQuell dashboard. For plain-language questions through an AI agent, connect the MCP server, which is also a paid feature.

Section titled “Related”- Investigating anomalies — where anomaly explanations appear.
